Description

VISOR HAT

Technical Field

[1] The present invention relates to a visor hat capable of protecting a face from hot sunlight and wind when a user works outdoors, exercises, climbs a mountain or goes fishing. More particularly, the present invention relates to a visor hat in which the length of a visor can be adjusted to correspond to the amount of sunlight and intensity of wind, and which is portable because it can be folded into a small size. Background Art

[2] Generally, a visor hat can protect a face from sunlight and wind because it has a visor that protrudes forward. Disclosure of Invention Technical Problem

[3] General visor hats have visors which are not large enough to mask the entire face area to block sunlight incident from the forward direction of a user.

[4] On the other hand, sun-caps have relatively large visors in comparison with general visor hats. However, since the size of the visor of the sun-cap is too large, storing and carrying it is difficult. In particular, it is difficult to put it in a bag for carrying.

[5] Accordingly, the present invention has been made in order to resolve the above problems occurring in the prior art and, an object of the present invention is to provide a visor hat with a visor that can be folded and is in a size which can be adjusted so that the visor hat is superior to conventional visor hats in its ability to block sunlight and wind when it is extended and in portability because the visor hat can be easily stored in a closet and carried in a bag due to its small size when it is folded. Technical Solution

[6] In order to achieve the above objects, according to one aspect of the present invention, a visor hat is provided, wherein one or more auxiliary visors are connected to the visor by a fixing means so that the auxiliary visors slide backward and forward.

[7] The fixing means comprises a visor hanger (a) provided on the visor, a visor hanger (b) provided on the auxiliary visor and slidably female/male mating connected to the visor hanger (a), a plurality of semicircular shaped corrugations provided on either one of the visor hanger (a) or the visor hanger (b) in the length direction, and engaging protrusions provided on the other of the visor hanger (a) or the visor hanger (b) such that the engaging protrusions correspond to the corrugations.

[8] The fixing means further comprises a pair of sills provided on both ends of any one of the visor hanger (a) and the visor hanger (b) in the length direction, and a stopper

provided on the other of the visor hanger (a) and the visor hanger (b) such that the stopper is stopped by the pair of sills when the auxiliary visor is slided forward to the maximum length or is slided backward to the minimum length, so that the visor hanger

(a) does not become separated from the visor hanger (b).

Advantageous Effects [9] As is apparent from the above descriptions, the visor hat has the advantage in that the visor thereof can be adjusted two, three or more times, in forward and backward length to correspond to the amount of sunlight. Accordingly, when the visor is fully extended in the maximum length, the visor hat according to the present invention can block a larger amount of sunlight or wind in comparison with conventional visor hats.

On the other hand, when the visor is folded in the minimum length, the visor hat can be easily stored in a closet or carried in a bag during travel.

Brief Description of the Drawings [10] FlG. 1 is a perspective view illustrating a visor hat according to a first embodiment of the present invention; [11] FlG. 2 is a cross-sectional view in the length direction to explain the connecting structure of a first visor and a second visor of the visor hat illustrated in FlG. 1 ; [12] FlG. 3 is a perspective view illustrating the visor hat shown in FlG. 2;

[13] FlG. 4 is a perspective view illustrating a visor hat according to a second embodiment of the present invention; [14] FlG. 5 is a perspective view illustrating a visor hat according to a third embodiment of the present invention; [15] FlG. 6 is a perspective view illustrating the visor hat according to the third embodiment of the present invention, and the view is of the state when a visor thereof is fully extended in the maximum length; and [16] FlG. 7 is a perspective view illustrating the visor hat according to the third embodiment of the present invention, and the view is of the state when the visor thereof is folded in the minimum length.

Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention [17] Hereafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in reference to the accompanying drawings. [18] FlG. 1 is a perspective view illustrating a visor hat according to a first embodiment of the present invention, FlG. 2 is a cross-sectional view of a visor hanger (a) and a visor hanger (b) in the length direction to explain the connecting structure of the visor hanger (a) and the visor hanger (b) illustrated in FlG. 1, and FlG. 3 is a perspective view of FlG. 2. [19] Referring to FlG. 1, the visor hat according to the first embodiment of the present

invention comprises a main body 11 provided with a visor 12, an auxiliary visor (a) 13 additionally mounted on the visor 12, a visor hanger (a) 14 mounted on both side ends of the visor 12, and a visor hanger (b) 15 slidably female/male mating connected on the visor hanger (a) 14.

[20] The visor 12 and the auxiliary visor (a) 13 are preferably made of a plate of a colored or colorless transparent material(e.g. elastic material such as polycarbonate or acryl synthetic resin) to allow light permeability. However, the visor 12 and the auxiliary visor (a) 12 can be made of a conventional visor material such as opaque plastic or fabric, etc.

[21] Referring to FlG. 2 and FlG. 3, the visor hanger (a) 14 has a plurality of semicircular shaped corrugations 16 in the length direction at a side thereof and the visor hanger (b) 15 has engaging protrusions 19 corresponding to the corrugations 16, so that the engaging protrusions 19 are engaged with the corrugations 16 at regular distances when the visor hanger (b) 15 slides along the visor hanger (a) 14 forward and backward.

[22] This structure prevents the auxiliary visor (a) 13 from moving freely. The engaging protrusions 19 are made of an elastic material and the corrugations 16 have a semicircular shape. Accordingly, the visor hanger (b) 15 can slide along the visor hanger (a) 14 forward and backward when the auxiliary visor (a) 13 is pushed or pulled by the hand, since the engaging protrusions 19 slide over the curved surfaces of the corrugations 16.

[23] The visor hanger (a) 14 has a pair of sills 17 and 17' at both end portions in the length direction, and the visor hanger (b) 15 has a stopper 18 so that the sills 17 and 17' catch the stopper 18 when the auxiliary visor (a) 13 is slided forward in the maximum length and is slided backward in the minimum length. Accordingly, even if the auxiliary visor (a) 13 is pulled to the maximum length or is pushed to the minimum length with full force, the auxiliary visor (a) 13 is not separated from the visor 12.

[24] FlG. 4 is a perspective view of a visor hat according to the second embodiment of the present invention. As illustrated in FlG. 4, the visor hat according to the second embodiment has a plurality of auxiliary visors 13 and 20. The structure connecting the auxiliary visor 13 to the visor 12 is the same as the structure in the first embodiment.

[25] Further, the structure connecting the auxiliary visor 20 to the auxiliary visor 13 is the same as the structure connecting the auxiliary visor 13 to the visor 12. Repeated description of the connecting structures is omitted since the connecting structures are easily understood in reference to the first embodiment.

[26] The visor 12 and the auxiliary visors 13 and 20 are made of a transparent plate which is colorless or colored, so that they are light permeable(e.g. elastic material such as polycarbonate or acryl synthetic resin). However, they can also be made of con-

ventional visor material such as fabric or opaque plastic.

[27] According to the second embodiment, since the hat has a plurality of visors 13, the visor can be adjusted to be longer than the visor of the visor hat according to the first embodiment.

[28] FlG. 5 is a perspective view illustrating a visor hat according to the third embodiment of the present invention. As illustrated in FlG. 5, the visor hats according to the second and the third embodiment of the present invention have the same basic structure. However, there is difference in that the visor hat according to the third embodiment of the present invention has the visor hanger (a) 14 and the visor hanger (b) 15 mounted on the lower surface of the visor 12 and the auxiliary visors 13 and 20, with a predetermined space between the visor hanger (a) 14 and the visor hanger (b) 15 being maintained.

[29] The structure according to the third embodiment of the present invention is useful when both side ends of the visor 12 and the auxiliary visors 13 and 20 are curved. That is, it is useful when it is difficult to mount the visor hanger (a) 14 and the visor hanger (b) 15 on the both side ends.

[30] The visor 12 and the auxiliary visors 13 and 20 are made of a transparent plate which is colorless or colored, so that they are light permeable(e.g. elastic material such as polycarbonate or acryl synthetic resin). However, they can be made of conventional visor material such as fabric or opaque plastic.

[31] FlG. 6 is a perspective view illustrating the visor hat according to the third embodiment of the present invention, in the state of being fully extended in the maximum length, and FlG. 7 is a perspective view illustrating the visor hat according to the third embodiment of the present invention, in the state of being folded in the minimum length.

[32] As illustrated in FlG. 6 and FlG. 7, the visor hat can have one, two, three or more auxiliary visors, so that the length of the visor can be extended one, two, three or more times. Thus, the length of the visor can be adjusted to correspond to the amount of sunlight. That is, the visor hat according to the present invention can block a larger amount of sunlight and wind in comparison with the conventional visor hat when the visor of the visor hat is fully extended. Further, the visor hat can be easily carried in a bag or stored in a closet when it is folded in the minimum length. Particularly, the visor hat is useful during travel since it can be easily put in a bag.
