Abstract:

A vital tissue for tendon or ligament which is expected as contributing to the rapid postoperative fixation to bone and early recovery owing to the high biocompatibility. Namely, a vital tissue for tendon or ligament comprising a tendon or ligament tissue base and a calcium phosphate compound wherein the calcium phosphate compound is fixed at least to the surface of the tendon or ligament tissue base; and a process for producing a vital tissue for tendon or ligament which involves the step of immersing the base alternately in a calcium solution and in a phosphoric acid solution to thereby form and fix the calcium phosphate compound.
