Abstract:
A noise section detection unit (101) separates an input signal into a voice section and other sections to detect a signal in sections other than the voice section as a background noise. A noise level estimation unit (102) estimates a noise level in a noise section. An information source model storing unit (103) stores an information source model obtained by modeling a parameter string for a noise-free voice input signal. A voice analysis unit (104) analyzes an input signal and extracts a parameter. A parameter quantizing unit (105) quantizes the parameter extracted by the voice analysis unit (104) based on the information source model and the noise level, and outputs a code corresponding to the quantized value. Whereby, a voice encoding process can be implement that is least dependent on a noise model accuracy and resistant to a noise signal component, and maintains a high quality even under a background noise environment.
