Abstract:
Provided is a voltage converter capable of improving a power conversion efficiency not only during a low load but also during a high load. A step-down type DC/DC converter 1 is provided with an inductor L1 with a tap and a capacitor C1. The inductor L1 and the capacitor C1 constitute an LC filter. The inductor L1 and a switching element SW3 constitute a variable inductor, the inductance value of which can be changed, and the capacitor C1 and a variable DC voltage source Vc constitute a variable capacitor, the capacitance value of which can be changed. A control unit 2 changes the inductance value of the variable inductor in accordance with the input/output voltage ratio Vin/Vout between a DC input voltage Vin and a DC output voltage Vout. When changing the inductance value of the variable inductor, the control unit 2 changes the capacitance value of the variable capacitor to a capacitance value with which an LC resonant frequency f0 is maintained constant.
