Abstract:
Disclosed is a voltage detection device for a fuel cell which can measure the cell voltage even when fuel is not being supplied to the cell. A plurality of cells are divided into five blocks, from a first block to a fifth block, and each block is provided with a voltage detector IC. Each voltage detector IC operates through the supply of electric power from the cell voltage in the block to which the voltage detector IC is connected, and one of the voltage detector ICs (21-1) is driven by electric power suppled by a DC/DC converter (42). Thus, even if the cell voltage is reduced for reasons such as fuel not being supplied to a cell, the detection of the cell voltage is possible using the aforementioned voltage detector IC (21-1). When the cell voltage detected by the voltage detector IC (21-1) exceeds a threshold voltage, voltage detection by each of the voltage detector ICs is initiated. As a result, high accuracy voltage detection is possible.
