Abstract:
The present invention relates to a vortex induced energy extraction device with an ellipsoidal cross section cylinder and, more specifically, the present invention is capable of obtaining improved vortex induced energy extraction efficiency by having a vortex generation cylinder used for a vortex induced energy extraction device in an ellipsoidal shape. Particularly, the present invention provides a vortex generation cylinder which has a cross section with an optimal aspect ratio (value produced by dividing short axis length by long axis length) for obtaining improved energy extraction efficiency through hydrodynamic analysis, so that the efficiency of the vortex induced energy extraction device can be remarkably improved. In addition, the present invention can further enhance energy conversion efficiency by simplifying a link structure of a translational or rotational vortex induced vibration energy extraction device using a vortex generation cylinder, and can facilitate the installation, management, and maintenance of a device. Thus, it is possible to improve safety, reliability, and competitiveness of a system in the power generation system field, particularly, a power generation system field using clean energy.
