Abstract:
This vortex pump for pumping gas is provided with: a housing provided with an intake flow path and a discharge flow path; and an impeller which is accommodated in the housing, and which rotates around a rotational axis. The impeller has, provided along the rotation direction, to an outer circumferential portion of at least one end surface of two end surfaces thereof in the direction of the rotational axis, a blade groove region which is provided with: a plurality of blades; and a plurality of blade groves which are respectively provided between adjacent blades. Each of the plurality of blade grooves is open at the one end surface side, and closed at the other end surface side. The housing is provided with a facing groove which faces the blade groove region, and extends in the rotation direction of the impeller. The ratio of the depth of the facing groove in an intermediate position of the facing groove excluding both ends in the rotation direction of the impeller, to the depth of each of the blade grooves at the deepest position is not more than 0.7.
