Abstract:
A vortex pump according to the present disclosure comprises: a housing which has provided thereto a suction port and a discharge port; and an impeller (15) which has a discoid shape and is provided inside the housing so as to be rotatable, the vortex pump being configured such that liquid drawn in through the suction port by the rotation of the impeller (15) is discharged from the discharge port. Vane grooves (15b) are formed in the outer circumferential edge of the discoid shape of the impeller (15). The vane grooves (15b) each comprises a vane-groove downstream-side surface (15b2) and a vane-groove upstream-side surface (15b1). A first inner portion of the vane-groove upstream-side surface (15b1) is formed so as to slant toward a direction opposite to the rotational direction with respect to a first reference line. A second outer portion of the vane-groove downstream-side surface (15b2) is formed so as to slant toward the rotational direction with respect to a second reference line.
