Abstract:
The present invention is a vortex suppression member 12 attached to a bell mouth of a pump. The vortex suppression member 12 comprises: a curved wall 30 which is curved in a cross-sectional arc shape that extends downwards from a portion of a circumferential direction at a peripheral part of a suction port of the bell mouth; and a bottom plate 34 which is supported by the curved wall 30 and faces downward of the suction port. The bottom plate 34 is positioned on an extension line of the axial center 40 of the bell mouth. Formed in the vortex suppression member 12 a flow passage 42a, which passes between the curved wall 30 and the bottom plate 34 from below the curved wall 30 and exits above the curved wall 30.
