Abstract:

Disclosed is a vulcanizing adhesive composition containing 45-75% by weight of a phenol resin, preferably a mixture of a novolac-type phenol resin and a resol type phenol resin, 5-25% by weight of a halogenated polymer and 10-30% by weight of a metal oxide in the total solid content. This vulcanizing adhesive composition is usefully used as an adhesive in production of a metal/adhesive layer/acrylic rubber composite body, since it improves interlayer adhesion between an acrylic rubber and a metal without subjecting the metal to a surface treatment such as a chemical conversion typified by a zinc phosphate treatment, a blasting treatment or a primer treatment.
