Abstract:
A vulcanizing mold (1) for molding the side wall of a tire, comprises a vent passage (4) opening to its rear face. An elongated groove (6) with a specified width communicating with the vent passage (4) is formed in a mold surface (2), a flat bar (8) having a specified thickness and formed of the same material as that of the mold (1) is fitted into the elongated groove (6) at a clearance, and the end face of the flat bar (8) is formed flush with the mold surface (2). By improving the opening of the vent passage at the mold surface, bare and spew can be prevented from occurring, contamination and clogging become difficult to occur, and even if clogging occurs, it can be easily eliminated.
