Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a walking assistance vehicle (100) which improves safety without causing discomfort to a user (8). Provided is a walking assistance vehicle (100), comprising: a base (1) which supports a user (8); a drive unit (14) which moves the base (1); a distance detecting unit (15) which detects a use distance from the base (1) to the user (8); a force detecting unit (11) which detects a force which the user (8) exerts on the base (1); and a movement control unit (10) which controls a drive unit (14) on the basis of the use distance or the force. If the use distance is greater than a predetermined distance threshold, the movement control unit (10) carries out a fall prevention control which exerts a braking force on the drive unit (14) and decelerates the base (1). If the force is greater than or equal to a predetermined bearing power threshold even after a given time, the movement control unit (10) carries out a return assist control which withdraws the base (1).
