Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to make it possible to easily inhibit ambient gas in the heating furnace from leaking to the exterior, or external air from entering the heating furnace, through penetration sections provided to the hearth so that a support column for driving can be inserted, even if a trough storing water is not provided along the furnace length direction on the moving frame. A walking beam heating furnace in which a driving beam oriented along the furnace length direction is provided on a driving support column (21) protruding above the hearth through a penetration section (13) provided in the hearth (10), and the driving beam is reciprocatingly moved in the vertical and furnace length directions, wherein seal plates (14) oriented along the furnace length direction are provided below the hearth so as to flank the penetration section, water is ejected in the form of a line oriented along the furnace length direction from at least one of the seal plates toward the other opposing seal plate, and a water film (F) is formed between the opposing seal plates.
