Abstract:
An apparatus for scrubbing, the apparatus comprising a mat with a first side and a second side, wherein the first side has a plurality of adhesive elements attached to the first side and a first portion of a locking mechanism are attached to a portion of the second side; and a scrubbing pad having a first side and a second side, wherein a portion of the first side has a second portion of the locking mechanism attached to the first side designed to mate with the first portion of the locking mechanism and the second side has a cleaning pad attached to the second side of the scrubbing pad.

Claims:
CLAIMS

What is claimed is:

1. An apparatus for scrubbing, the apparatus comprising: a mat with a first side and a second side, wherein the first side has a plurality of adhesive elements attached to the first side and a first portion of a locking mechanism are attached to a portion of the second side; and a scrubbing pad having a first side and a second side, wherein a portion of the first side has a second portion of the locking mechanism attached to the first side designed to mate with the first portion of the locking mechanism and the second side has a cleaning pad attached to the second side of the scrubbing pad.

2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the adhesive elements are suction cups.

3. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the locking mechanism is a hook and loop fastener.

4. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the locking mechanism is a hook and latch fastener.

5. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the cleaning pad is a scouring pad.

6. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein a portion of the scrubbing apparatus is a first type of scouring pad and remainder of the scrubbing apparatus is a second type of scouring pad.

7. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising: an exfoliating agent integrated into the cleaning pad.

8. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising: a quantity of soap disposed in the cleaning pad, wherein the soap would be disposed in a predetermined space of the cleaning pad.

9. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the adhesive element is a quantity of an adhesive compound to adhere the apparatus to a surface.

10. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein the suction cups are of a predetermined size in a predetermined location.

Description:
WALL MOUNTED BACK SCRUBBER

BACKGROUND

[0001] This invention relates to back scrubbers and, more particularly, to a removable wall- mounted back scrubber for cleansing a user's back while showering without using his hands or another person to do the scrubbing.

[0002] Various devices for attachment to a bathroom shower or tub wall presently exist for cleaning or massaging inaccessible areas of a person's body, particularly the back. Such devices assist the elderly, persons with arthritis and others with impaired mobility. Otherwise unimpaired persons also benefit from the presently known devices which make hard-to-reach areas of a person accessible to cleaning or massaging.

[0003] The use of body washing devices is known in the prior art. More specifically, body washing devices heretofore devised and utilized are known to consist basically of familiar, expected and obvious structural configurations, notwithstanding the myriad of designs encompassed by the crowded prior art which have been developed for the fulfillment of countless objectives and requirements.

[0004] While the above-described devices fulfill their respective and objects and requirements, they do not describe a back scratching, scrubbing, and washing device, wherein a removable wall- mounted back scrubber is used for the elderly, those with arthritis, and disabled individuals who may have limited physical movement. The present invention satisfies such a need by providing an apparatus that is simple and easy to use, is lightweight yet durable in design, and allows for the cleaning and scrubbing of a user's back with ease and minimal effort. Such an apparatus is convenient, effective, and time-saving. The apparatus is practical, reasonably priced, and attractive. SUMMARY

[0006] The present invention to provide an apparatus for a removable wall-mounted back scrubber. These and other objects, features, and advantages of the invention are provided by a removable wall-mounted back scrubber for cleansing a back of elderly, those with arthritis, and disabled individuals who may have limited physical movement.

[0007] The prime objective of the present invention to provide a wall-mounted back scrubber device which provides hands free scrubbing to people having arthritis, broken arm, hurt shoulder, disabled, etc.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0014] In the following detailed description, reference is made to the accompanying drawings which form a part hereof, and in which is shown by way of illustration specific embodiments in which the invention may be practiced. These embodiments are described in sufficient detail to enable those skilled in the art to practice the invention, and it is to be understood that the embodiments may be combined, or that other embodiments may be utilized and that structural and logical changes may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. The following detailed description is, therefore, not to be taken in a limiting sense, and the scope of the present invention is defined by the appended claims and their equivalents.

[0015] FIGS. 1 through 4 show a wall mountable back scrubber. The wall mounted back scrubber is comprised of a mat 10 with a plurality of adhesive cups 20 on one side and on the other side has a portion of the surface covered in a mechanism to adhere the mat to a scrubber pad 40. In one embodiment, the adhesive cups 20 are suction cups. In additional embodiments, the adhesive cups 20 have an adhesive substance on them to adhere to the wall or surface. In one embodiment, the mechanism to adhere the mat to the scrubber pad 40 can be a hook and loop style locking mechanism. In additional embodiments, the mechanism can be, but not limited to, clasps, locks, snaps, hooks, fasteners, or the like. In the depicted embodiment, the mat and the scrubber pad 40 are rectangular. In additional embodiments, the mat and/or the scrubber pad 40 can be other shapes and sizes. The scrubber pad 40 has a first surface that is the cleaning pad 30. The scrubbing pad 40 is conventional and comprises a plurality of resiliently flexible filaments. Also envisioned is a scrubbing member that is removable from the mat 10.

[0016] Alternatively, the device is also available in any geometrical shape and color, wherein the mat is made of plastic or of other similar material. But, similarly all shapes have a plurality of adhesive cups 20 made of plastic or rubber or other similar material attached to back side of the mat 10, the purpose of which is to firmly attach the device to the wall. And on the other side the mat 10 receives and holds the replaceable cleaning unit which is attached to the device with the help of a mechanism to adhere the mat 10 to the scrubber pad 40. [0017] In additional embodiments, the cleaning pad 30 has a portion that is one scoring material and a second portion that is another scoring material. In additional embodiments, the cleaning pad 30 has soap or a cleaning agent designed integrated into the cleaning pad 30 so that when a user used the cleaning pad 30 they would not need to apply soap before using the apparatus. In additional embodiments, the cleaning pad 30 has an exfoliating agent integrated within. The cleaning pad 30 is designed to be replaced after the cleaning pad 30 is worn out.

[0018] FIG 5 shows the mat 10 secured to the scrubber pad 40 and is placed on the wall of a shower. The user puts body wash or soap on the scrubbing member. The user then scrubs their back against the scrubbing member. The rectangular shape of the device allows proper cleaning of the back.

[0019] Advantageously, the present mat 10 provides hands free scrubbing to the people having arthritis, broken arm, hurt shoulder, disabled, etc. Also, the device permits the positioning of the cleansing means at an optimum height of a user thereof. In more benefits, the present device adapted for use in the shower stalls of hotels, motels, hospitals and the like. In addition, it is inexpensive to manufacture, rugged in construction, and simple in design.
