The present invention is provided with the following: a steering wheel (10) that is for steering a vehicle and that comprises a roughly annular ring section (11) that is gripped during steering; a face detection unit (30) comprising a camera (33) that is disposed on the ring section (11) and can capture images of a driver's face; a determination unit (57) into which image data is input from the camera that has captured a face image and which can determine whether the driver is driving in a warning-worthy fashion, including falling asleep at the wheel or driving inattentively; and a warning generation unit (40) that generates warnings for the driver on the basis of the determination results for warning-worthy driving from the determination unit (57). The camera (33) is disposed at the front end center (11fc) of the ring section so that the area of the angle of view relative to the driver can be adjusted vertically; the camera (33) is also provided with a rotational axis (C) in the lateral direction so as to enable pivotal adjustment in the vertical direction.
