Abstract:
Provided is a warning sound generating device for a vehicle such that there is a wide choice of mounting locations, that installation can be performed in a simple way, and that it is possible to achieve a light weight, a compact size, a low cost, low electric power consumption, and a high sound quality. The warning sound generating device comprises vibration units (1) which are mounted on body component members (9) exposed on the exterior of a vehicle (C) and have vibrators (10) that convert electroacoustic signals into mechanical vibrations; and an acoustic signal supply means (2) for supplying electroacoustic signals to the vibration units (1), said electroacoustic signals serving to draw the attention of people around the vehicle (C). The warning sound generating device is characterized in that a plurality of vibrators (10) are provided side by side in each of vibration units (1), that the body component members (9) whereon the vibration units (1) are mounted serve as vibration plates, and that a warning sound is radiated to an area around the vehicle (C) by the plurality of vibrators (10).
