Abstract:
A washing machine according to an embodiment comprises: a rotating container; a tub which accommodates the rotating container; a driving unit which rotates the rotating container; a water drain pipe connected to the tub to provide a passage through which water contained in the tub is discharged to the outside; a dehydration sensor which comprises a first electrode and a second electrode, and outputs a sensor value that varies according to the level of water discharged to the outside during a dehydration process in which the rotating container rotates in one direction; and a control unit which controls the dehydration process on the basis of the sensor value output from the dehydration sensor.
