Abstract:
The washing machine for suppressing noise generated according to a change in operation mode of a motor and ensuring driving stability of the motor comprises: a drum; a pulsator; a motor including a stator, a first rotor connected to the drum, and a second rotor connected to the pulsator; an inverter circuit connected to the motor; and at least one processor for selectively controlling the inverter circuit so as to drive the motor on the basis of a plurality of operation modes, wherein the plurality of operation modes include a first operation mode in which only the first rotor rotates, a second operation mode in which only the second rotor rotates, and a third operation mode in which both the first rotor and the second rotor rotate, and, on the basis that the operation modes of the motor are changed from any one from among the plurality of operation modes to another operation mode, the processor controls the inverter circuit so that both the first rotor and the second rotor stop, and controls the inverter circuit so as to drive the motor on the basis of the changed operation mode.
