Abstract:
A washing machine and a drying machine which can efficiently deodorize and sterilize a place in a sanitary space, said place being that which is particularly susceptible to contamination, and can maintain the entire sanitary space clean.
Air which contains positive and negative ions generated by an ion generator (42) passes through an air discharge opening (5a) and is delivered to the boundary portion (6d) between a top wall (6a) and a front wall (6b). The boundary portion (6d) is formed in an arc shape, and this causes at least a portion of the air which contains the positive and negative ions to advance while curving smoothly while being in contact with an operation panel (7) disposed along the boundary portion (6d), and finally the portion of the air descends along the front wall (6b). After that, the descended air reaches a floor (G) in front of a washing and drying machine (1), said floor (G) being the place in a sanitary space which is particularly susceptible to contamination, and diffuses along the floor (G). In addition, the operation panel (7) which tends to be contaminated by users sebum, etc. can be maintained clean because the air which contains the positive and negative ions advances while being in contact with the operation panel (7).
