Abstract:
In a washing machine and a method for controlling spin-drying according to an embodiment, the washing machine comprises: a frame forming the exterior; a tub installed in the frame; a drum accommodated in the tub; a washing motor that rotates the drum; a drain motor that drains water from the tub; a vibration sensor provided in the frame; and a control unit that, when a spin-drying cycle begins, drives the drain motor in a state in which the washing motor is stopped, determines a resonant frequency of the frame on the basis of a vibration value measured by the vibration sensor, and controls the number of revolutions of the washing motor to avoid the resonant frequency during the spin-drying cycle.
