Abstract:
A washing machine (50) in which, at the start of a washing operation, a control unit (25) determines a first water quantity of washing water and a detergent quantity, in accordance with a quantity of laundry detected by a clothing quantity detecting unit, generates a high-concentration detergent solution using a second water quantity, less than the first water quantity, of washing water, supplies the high-concentration detergent solution to a foam-generating unit (16), and executes an impregnation step of introducing the foam generated by the foam-generating unit (16) into a rotating drum and causing the foam to be impregnated into the laundry. Further, the control unit (25) is configured in such a way that if the quantity of laundry detected by the clothing quantity detecting unit is greater than a prescribed quantity, the control unit (25) sets the second water quantity to be greater than a prescribed water quantity.
