Abstract:
A washing machine (1), which can effectively utilize a movement of an outer tub (20) and a spherical washing and de-watering tub (30) after loading water, so as to improve cleaning performance. The fully automatic washing machine (1) is provided with an outer tub (20), which is rotatably disposed about a vertical rotation axis (R1) within a casing (10) and which is capable of storing water; a ball-shaped washing and de-watering tub (30), which is rotatably disposed about a horizontal rotation axis (R2) within the outer tub (20) and which is capable of receiving laundry items; an outer tub motor (140), for rotating the outer tub (20); a de-watering tub motor (70), for rotating the washing and de-watering tub (30); and a control unit (200), for driving the outer tub motor (140) while also driving the de-watering tub motor (70) during a washing operation.
