Abstract:
This washing machine is provided with: a damper holding body (18) provided in a space (6a) formed in the cover hinge section (31) of a cover body (3); and a rotary type impact damper (19) for damping the rotation of the cover body (3), the rotary type impact damper (19) having one end which is loosely fitted in the damper holding section (18), and also having the other end rotatably supported by a cover hinge bearing (24). The damper holding body (18) is configured such that the front end thereof is affixed by a self-tapping screw (20) to the cover body and such that an engagement protrusion (18a) formed at the rear end of the damper holding body (18) is inserted and affixed in a groove (22) formed in the cover body (3). As a result of this configuration, the cover body (3) can be smoothly opened and closed without hitting noise. Further, productivity is increased due to the fact that the damper holding body (18) can be temporarily affixed during assembling. Further, since the damper holding body (18) is reliably affixed to the cover body (3), deformation and damage due to impact force caused by the rotational operation of the damper is prevented and reliability is increased.
