Abstract:
A washing machine (100) is provided with: a housing (2); an outer tank (1); a washing tub (4); a motor (10); a centrifugal separation part (20) for separating foreign matter contained in washing water within the outer tank (1); a water channel (19) connected to the centrifugal separation part (20); a circulation pathway (19c) comprising the outer tank (1), the centrifugal separation part (20), and the water channel (19); and a pump (21) for circulating the washing water through the circulation pathway (19c). The centrifugal separation part (20) has a case (22) and a rotary cylinder (23) disposed within the case (22). The rotary cylinder (23) has: a washing water inlet (23b) through which the washing water flows in; a washing water outlet (23c) through which the washing water flows out; and a blade (25). The blade (25) is configured to be rotated upon receiving a stream of washing water so as to cause the rotary cylinder (23) to rotate.
