Abstract:
A washing machine of the present invention comprises: an outer tub for containing water; an inner tub disposed in the outer tub for receiving laundry, and rotated around a vertical axis; a motor for providing a rotational force; an inner shaft rotated by the motor and having a first hollow; an outer shaft, into which the inner shaft is inserted to form a second hollow, for rotating the inner tub; an elevating shaft inserted into the first hollow and integrally rotated with the inner shaft, the elevating shaft being allowed to be raised or lowered with respect to the inner shaft; a pulsator disposed in the inner tub and coupled to the elevating shaft; a clutch disposed between the inner shaft and the outer shaft so as to be raised or lowered in a state of being engaged with the outer shaft, wherein the clutch is engaged with the elevating shaft in a screw-fastening manner so as to be raised and lowered between a raised position and a lowered position by rotation of the elevating shaft.
