Abstract:
A washing machine, capable of washing in a manner of preventing structural breakage in washing common laundry and delicate laundry together and bringing no damage to the delicate laundry. The washing machine (1) comprises: a cylindrical washing tub (4) having a main receiving space (4E) for receiving laundry and an axis (J) extending in a vertical direction (Z); and a receiving box (8). A sub-receiving space (8D) surrounded by a curved plate portion (17), a pair of side plate portions (18) and a bottom plate portion (19) and used for receiving the laundry (S) is formed in the receiving box (8); the curved plate portion (17) is disposed, from the axis (J) side, face to face with an inner peripheral surface (4G) of the washing tub (4) and extends in a circumferential direction (P) of the inner peripheral surface (4G); the pair of side plate portions (18) extend to the inner peripheral surface (4G) from both ends of the curved plate portion (17) in the circumferential direction (P); the bottom plate portion (19) extends to the inner peripheral surface (4G) from the lower ends of the curved plate portion (17) and the pair of side plate portions (18). The sub-receiving space (8D) has an arc-shaped cross section extending in the circumferential direction (P). The size (D) of the sub-receiving space (8D) in the radial direction (R) centering on the axis (J) is getting smaller and smaller toward an upper end (8E) of the sub-receiving space (8D).
