Abstract:
A washing machine capable of improving the security of a cover locking apparatus disposed on the cover of the washing machine, comprising: a cover disposed on a housing in an openable and closable manner; a cover locking apparatus capable of being switched between a locked state for keeping the cover in a closed state and an unlocked state allowing the cover to be opened; an operating part; a password storage unit for storing a password inputted from the operating part; an unlocking code storage unit for storing an unlocking code; and a control unit for keeping the cover locking apparatus in the locked state when the password is inputted from the operating unit, and switching the cover locking apparatus to the unlocked state when the password stored in the password storage unit or the unlocking code stored in the unlocking code storage unit is inputted from the operating unit in the locked state; when the cover locking apparatus is switched from the locked state to the unlocked state by means of inputting the unlocking code, the unlocking code stored in the unlocking code storage unit is automatically updated.
