Abstract:
Provided is a coloring device for an optical fiber which comprises a nipple, a first die and a second die through which an optical fiber successively passes, and a frame which forms an ink reservoir between the outer periphery of the nipple and the frame and which has an ink supply port connected to the ink reservoir and a washing liquid discharge port, wherein an ink passage is formed among the nipple, the first die, and the second die, and an optical fiber passage hole of the second die has a tapered portion having an inner diameter reducing toward the passing direction of the optical fiber. Also, provided is a washing method for a coloring device for an optical fiber, comprising a first washing step in which a washing liquid is supplied through an optical fiber passage hole of the nipple and the ink supply port and is discharged from the washing liquid discharge port; and a second washing step in which a washing liquid is supplied from the optical fiber passage hole of the nipple and ink supply port and is discharged from the optical fiber passage hole of the second die. Consequently, the productivity of the optical fiber can be enhanced and the manufacturing cost thereof can be reduced.
