Abstract:
A waste heat recovery device of an internal combustion engine, comprising a second heat exchanger (H2), a fifth heat exchanger (H5), a fourth heat exchanger (H4), a third heat exchanger (H3), and a first heat exchanger (H1) disposed in the exhaust gas passage (33) of the internal combustion engine in order from the upstream side to the downstream side in the exhaust gas flow direction to feed water as working medium in order to the first heat exchanger (H1), second heat exchanger (H2), third heat exchanger (H3), fourth heat exchanger (H4), and fifth heat exchanger (H5), wherein the lowest temperature water is fed to the first heat exchanger (H1) on the lowermost stream side in the exhaust gas flow direction allowing rather low temperature exhaust gas to be fed thereto to increase a heat exchange efficiency and the rather low temperature water passed through only the first heat exchanger (H1) is fed to the second heat exchanger (H2) on the uppermost stream side in the exhaust gas flow direction to effectively cool a hot part just on the downstream side of the exhaust valve (25) of the internal combustion engine, whereby the hot exhaust gas passage (33) just on the downstream side of the exhaust valve (25) can be cooled effectively while assuring the waste heat recovery efficiency of the internal combustion engine for the waste heat from the exhaust gas.
