Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a wastewater treatment device that can maintain, over an extended time, functionality for decomposing food waste with microorganisms without needing to supply microorganisms and without periodically replenishing chaff as in the case of bacteria beds that use chaff. This wastewater treatment device is a wastewater treatment device that comprises a decomposition tank that accommodates solid matter, which is ground food waste, and a bacteria bed, a water supply means that supplies water to the decomposition tank, and a mixing means that mixes the solid matter and bacteria bed in the decomposition tank, and that decomposes the solid matter by using aerobic microorganisms in the bacteria bed. The bacteria bed comprises: a carrier made of a synthetic resin that uses a mineral having a plurality of pores as the raw material; and microorganisms carried in the plurality of pores.
