Abstract:
The present invention is a water-absorbent resin composition for plant cultivation comprising a cross-linked copolymer (B) that contains, as essential constituent units, a (meth)acrylic acid and/or (meth)acrylic acid salt (b1), and a (meth)acrylamide (b2). Calcium ion content is 5.0-80.0 mg per 1.0 g of dry weight of the composition. The calcium ion absorption amount is 7.0 mg to less than 76.0 mg per 1.0 g of dry weight of the composition. The present invention makes it possible to provide a water-absorbent resin composition for plant cultivation that achieves both water-absorbent properties (particularly water retention) and plant growth promoting properties, and that also has high resistance to soil environments.
