Abstract:

The present invention relates to a water absorbent resin which has a siloxane skeleton, and which is characterized by being a copolymer which includes: structural units derived from a polymerizable vinyl monomer (A) represented by general formula (1); structural units derived from a polymerizable vinyl monomer (B) represented by general formula (3); and structural units derived from an organopolysiloxane (C) which has polymerizable groups at both terminals, and which is represented by general formula (4). Accordingly, provided are: a water absorbent resin which has a siloxane skeleton, and which is capable of thickening an aqueous composition while inhibiting a feeling of stickiness; and a cosmetic including said water absorbent resin.
