Abstract:

A water absorbing composite comprising a fibrous substrate and, immobilized thereon, water absorbing polymer particles, characterized in that at least a part of the polymer particles are primary particles having an average particle diameter of 50 to 1000 $g(m)m, 30 wt % or more of the primary particles form particles agglomerated by the mutual adhesive binding among themselves with almost maintaining their original particle shapes, the agglomerated particles having a shape satisfying the following requirements, and a part of the primary particles constituting the agglomerated particles are not bound to the fibrous substrate. The present water absorbing composite, wherein most part of a high water-absorbent polymer is immobilized on a fibrous substrate with high stability, has excellent absorptivity for water and exhibits a high absorption speed, and further is excellent in the immobility of swollen gels formed by absorption of water. Average particle diameter (D) 100$m(F)D$m(F)3000 $g(m)m, angle of deviation ($g(u)) by deviation, angle analysis 10$m(F)$g(u)$m(F)25,5 Hz/20 Hz intensity ratio (k) in frequency analysis 0.6$m(F)k$m(F)0.9. The ratio of the longest diameter (L) to the shortest diameter (l) 1.2$m(F)L/l$m(F)15.0.
