Abstract:
Disclosed is a water-absorbing pad which can absorb water by using a water-impermeable fabric or sheet, when necessary, and effectively cool or warm human face, neck, head and so on.
A water-absorbing pad wherein: a sheet-type water-absorbent (15) containing a water-absorbing polymer is tucked into a flat bag (10) which comprises a water-impermeable fabric (10A, 10B) and is sealed at the periphery; the water-impermeable fabric (10A, 10B) and the sheet-type water-absorbent (15) are stitched together with a stitching thread and thus divided into a plurality of areas in a planar view; and the a sheet-type water-absorbent (15) absorbs water using a stitched part (32) as a water absorption channel. The sheet-type water-absorbent (15) absorbs water exclusively through holes, which have been formed by stitching, and by the capillary action of the stitching thread. The sheet-type water-absorbent (15) is preferably a non-woven fabric comprising a water-absorbing polymer. The surface of the water-impermeable fabric (10A, 10B) may have been subjected to a water-repellent treatment.
