Abstract:
Provided is a water absorption preventing material which is an organosilicon compound-based composition that has properties facilitating work and excellent storage stability and that can impart excellent water repellency for long periods of time to inorganic porous material such as concrete, mortar, autoclaved lightweight concrete, and bricks. This water absorption preventing material includes components (A) to (D). (A) 70 to 95 weight% of an organoalkoxysilane represented by general formula R1 aSi(OR2)4-a (in the formula, R1 is each independently a monovalent hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, provided that at least one R1 is an alkyl group having 4 to 20 carbon atoms, R2 is an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, and a is 1 or 2), (B) 0.2 to 10 weight% of a silicone resin comprising an alkyl group having 4 to 20 carbon atoms, the silicone resin being selected from the group consisting of an MQ resin, MTQ resin, MDQ resin, MDTQ resin, and T resin, (C) 0 to 5 weight% of an organosilicon represented by the general formula, [chemical formula 1] (in the formula, R3 is each independently an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, Q is a group selected from the group consisting of a group comprising a hydroxyl group or an alkoxy group bonded to a silicon atom, an amino group, an amide group, a carboxyl group, an epoxy group, and a hydroxyl group, A is a group selected from a hydroxyl group, R3, and Q, l is 0 to 500, and m is 0 to 20, provided that one of l or m is not 0), and (D) 0.1 to 6 weight% of a surfactant that includes a nonionic surfactant of HLB12 or less and a nonionic surfactant of HLB15 or more. The ratio of (A)/{(B)+(C)} by weight is 4:1 to 250:1 ((A):{(B)+(C)}) and the percentage of the total amount of (A), (B), and (C) to the whole amount is 70.2 to 95.2 weight%.
