Abstract:
Provided is a self-emulsifying emulsion that does not use an emulsifier, the self-emulsifying emulsion having excellent storage stability as well as exceptional adhesiveness, water resistance, and bondability to substrates made of polyethylene, polypropylene, and other such olefins. This self-emulsifying emulsion contains a modified polyurethane resin having anionic functional groups (component A), a polypropylene resin free of hydrophilic polar groups (component B), and a tackifier (component C), the self-emulsifying emulsion satisfying (1) and (2). (1) The modified polyurethane resin having anionic functional groups (component A) disperses in water without an emulsifier being present. (2) Dispersion particles comprising the modified polyurethane resin having anionic functional groups (component A) encapsulate the polypropylene resin free of hydrophilic polar groups (component B) and the tackifier (component C).
