Abstract:
Provided are: a water-based ink which contains a pigment, a water-insoluble polymer, organic solvents, and one or more surfactants, the organic solvents including one or more glycol ethers, which have a viscosity of 2.0-7.0 mPa·s and 0-5 mass% of which is accounted for by a glycol ether having a viscosity at 20ºC of 6.0 mPa·s or higher, the glycol ethers having a vapor pressure at 20ºC of 0.01-7.0 hPa, the surfactants including 0.005-0.3 mass% silicone-based surfactant, the content of the organic solvents being 25-50 mass%, and the content of one or more high-boiling-point organic solvents in the water-based ink being 5 mass% or less; an ink set for ink-jet recording which comprises two or more inks that are each the water-based ink described above; and an ink-jet recording method which comprises delivering any of the water-based inks to a recording medium and delivering any of the water-based inks to the delivered water-based ink.
The water-based ink according to the present invention has excellent suitability for continuous delivery and, even when recorded on a recording medium not absorbing water, can give a satisfactory recorded object that is free from scumming caused by roller transfer or from color mixing due to the overprinting of inks.
