Abstract:
This water content sensor (1) comprises: a light emission unit (20) for emitting detection light including a first wavelength band for which absorbance by water is greater than a prescribed value and reference light including a second wavelength band for which absorbance by water is less than or equal to the prescribed value toward a road surface (S) as light; a first light reception unit (33) for receiving the detection light reflected by the road surface (S) and converting the detection light into a first electric signal; a second light reception unit (43) for receiving the reference light reflected by the road surface (S) and converting the reference light into a second electric signal; and a calculation processing unit (56) for detecting the water content held by the road surface (S) on the basis of the signal ratio between the first electric signal and the second electric signal. The calculation processing unit (56) detects the water content on the basis of the signal ratio when the signal intensity of the first electric signal and/or second electric signal is within a prescribed range that is based on a reference value.
