Abstract:
This water-disintegrable paper manufacturing method involves: a first step in which water-disintegrable base paper sheets are embossed to form a bulky portion configured from a large number of concavoconvex sections; a second step in which a water-soluble binder is supplied to the surface of base paper sheets on which the bulky portion has been formed, impregnating the base paper sheets with the water-disintegrable binder; a third step in which the wet-state base paper sheets are dried in a contactless manner; and a fourth step in which an aqueous agent is supplied to the base paper sheets on which the bulky portion is formed, impregnating the base paper sheets with the aqueous agent. In the first step, a plurality of base paper sheets in a non-wet state are placed on top of one another and embossed, and in the third step, the contactless drying is performed by irradiation with either or both electromagnetic waves and far infrared rays.
