Claims:
1. Prior art portion is a lamp with light effect on water, characterized by a source of light and a rough fluid element, independently from its design, shape, colour or material;.
2. Lamp with light effect on water as claimed at point 1, characterized by a source of light where this indication means light produced by all type of bulb and electricity power;.
3. Lamp with light effect on water as claimed at points 1,2, characterized by a presence of a fluid element where this indication means any element being transparent to light rays, either liquid or gas of any colour;.
4. Lamp with light effect on water as claimed at points 1,2,3 characterized by the movement of the fluid element transmitted from inside or outside the fluid element itself. AMENDED CLAIMS [received by the International Bureau on 29 September 2000 (29.09.00); original claims 1. 4 replaced by amended claims 1. 3 (2 pages)] CLAIMS 1. Prior art portion is a lamp, independently from its design, shape, colour or material, which gives out a particular light effect in the surrounding area, producing an effect similar to a natural phenomenon, typical of light reflection on the surface of a rough fluid element. In this invention the light effect is given by a fluid element and by the rippling of its top surface so to transform and to project the lamp light rays in the surrounding area.
5. 2 Lamp with light effect as claimed at point 1, comprising at least: a) a source of light where this indication means light produced by all types of bulb and electricity power; b) a container with transparent surfaces in order to allow the passage of light coming out from the source of light (rays of light going inside and outside); this container can also be not. at. sight and placed inside the lamp; c) a fluid element inside the container where this indication means any element being transparent to light rays, either liquid or gas of any colour; d) a micro. pump moving the fluid element shall create on the top surface of the fluid element waves that, accordingly to their height, length and intensity, will project and vary the light effect. For this reason it is necessary to leave a certain empty space between the surface of the fluid element and the top surface of the container. The quantity of fluid element is in relation with the wave height we want to obtain.
6. 3 Lamp with light effect as claimed at points 1,2 so to create a visual emotion given by the transformation of the lamp light rays reflected in the surrounding area by the rippling surface of the fluid element. This lamp can be used in interior and exterior lighting: floor lamp, table lamp, wall lamp, ceiling lamp, suspension lamp. Statement under Article 19 (1) My amended claims have no impact on the description and the drawings. In my invention PCT/IT/00166: Claim 1 underlines the basic concept: a lamp which gives out a particular light effect in the surrounding area, producing an effect similar to a natural phenomenon typical of light reflection on the top surface of a rough fluid element. Claim 2 explains how to obtain the reflection effect of the lamp light rays. Claim 3 shows the multiple uses of this lamp in interior and exterior lighting. What I claim is different from what is described in claims: 1. 7 of Patent number 5,678,918 1. 8 of Patent number 5,272,604 1. 4 of Patent number 2,083,174 1. 2 of Patent number 3,748,457 In Patent number 5,678,918 the claims 1. 7 describe a lamp accessory where: 1) the light illuminates only the cloud. like currents created inside the liquid; 2) the visual effect claimed is only due to the observation cloud. like currents and therefore the liquid must be visible, contrarily to my claim 1. 3.
7. Since the top surface of the container is closed, the light given out cannot hit the top surface of the liquid and so cannot be reflected in the surrounding area, contrarily to my claim 2; anyway 4) the light would not have the reflections I claim since it is not transformed, because: 5) the liquid fills up completely the container and the rotatory motion of the blades cannot create waves. In Patent number 5,272,604 the claims 1. 8 describe a decorative lamp where: 1) the visual effect claimed is due to the observation of the ornaments or the light. reflecting ball floating inside the cyclone, therefore the liquid must be visible; 2) the light only illuminates the floating ornaments or the light. reflecting ball inside the liquid; contrarily to my claims 1. 3.
8. Since the top surface of the container is closed, the light cannot be reflected in the surrounding area, contrarily to my claim 2; anyway 4) the light would not have the reflections I claim since it is not transformed, because: 5) the liquid fills up completely the container and the cyclonic movement cannot create waves on the surface, contrarily to my claims 1. 3. In Patent number 2,083,174 the claims 1. 4 describe a lamp where: 1) the visual effect claimed is only due to the observation of the air bubbles produced and the light illuminates and colours the air bubbles, contrarily to my claims 1. 3; 2) the liquid and its air bubbles must be visible, contrarily to my claim 2; anyway 3) the light would not have the reflections I claim since it is not transformed, because: 4) the air bubbles produced in the lower part of the lamp do not create waves on the surface, contrarily to my claims 1. 3. In Patent number: 3,748,457 the claims 1. 2 describe a lamp: which has no fluid element inside and which works only if let floating in a swimming. pool, contrarily to my claims 1. 3.
Description:
DESCRIPTION A WATER EFFECT LAMP TFCHNICAT FIELD This invention concerns a particular effect produced by illumination, that is the reflection of light trough rough liquid projected in the environment by a lamp.

This invention can be used, like conventional lamps, in interior and exterior of lighting in order to have a decorative effect: like a floor lamp, a table lamp, a wall lamp, ceiling lamp, suspension lamp.

Conventional lamps may produce, besides the emitted light, colours, geometrical effects, various patterns.

The novelty of this invention is the connection between given out light and fluidity effect: a particular effect similar to reflection of light trough rough liquid.

DISCLOSE DP INVENTION This invention concerns a lamp containing a fluid element that produce besides the emitted light a particular effect, that is the reflection of light trough rough liquid projected in the environment.

BRTEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS The invention will be now explained referring to the enclosed drawings (1/2 and 2/2), which show examples of execution of"a water effect lamp".

Fig. 1 and fig. 2 show the invention model explaining how it works: it is formed at least by a source of light, l, a fluid element, 2,

a container with transparent surfaces, 3, in order to allow the passage of light (rays of light going inside and outside), * a mechanism, 4, moving the fluid, internal or external to, 2,.

In order to obtain a greater effect, the source of light should be placed vertically to the fluid element surface: in the lower part as fig. l shows; in the upper part as fig. 2 shows; in these cases the surfaces, 3a, may not be transparent, they may be so if one chooses to place a source of light at their sides.

Whit reference to drawing 2/2 illustrating an application example of the invention working mode: the fig. 3 shows the plan of the lamp seen from above; the fig. 4 shows a section; the fig. 5 shows the front elevation; the fig. 6 a three-dimensional view.

All the measures are in millimetres.

The realisation of this project has been made.

Whit reference to drawing 2/2 the lamp is made of: a Plexiglas container inside which there is a source of light, l, a 60 Watt bulb connected to a dimmer; a fluid element, 2, consisting of an extra purified distilled water to prevent it from contamination, contained by a transparent Plexiglas box, 3.

The fluid is made rough from inside by a micro-pump, 4, absolutely watertight, with regulation of flow; the micro-pump has been hidden in a hollow so that its shadow cannot be projected by the light rays; the cable has been linked to the electric power, haring before sealed the hole made on purpose on the surface of the hollow and it is controlled by a switch.

In and out light rays emission surfaces are made of transparent Plexiglas and also the side surfaces, instead the remaining surfaces are sand blasted.

The lids on top can be opened; on the bottom there is a sliding-lid which allows assemblage operations.

BEST MODE FOR CARRYTNG OUT THE INVENTION A particular constructive process is not needed to carry out this invention in comparison to the traditional lamps making system.

Functioning mechanism: a rough fluid element inside transparent surfaces can be put in all the lamp on the market, modifying the dimensions.

INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY Every industry making lamps can use this invention applying it to lamps yet on the market or in the future production; especially with regard to decorative effect lamps creating various patterns in the surroundings.
