Abstract:
To provide a water-electrolysis method and a water-electrolysis device in which the frequency of contamination by generated hydrogen and oxygen is extremely low and electrolysis efficiency is high, while using a simplified structure. The water-electrolysis method and the water-electrolysis device for electrolyzing water by supplying water to the cathode side of an electrolytic film that includes a solid polymer film provided with a catalyst layer on the surface thereof, and applying a potential difference to both surfaces of the electrolytic film; wherein the pressure difference between the surfaces of the electrolytic film is controlled to 50 kPa or less, and temperature-controlled water is only supplied to the cathode side of the electrolytic film.
