A water electrolysis system which comprises a hydrogen gas line and an oxygen gas line that are connected to an electrolytic cell, and which is characterized in that at least one of the hydrogen gas line and the oxygen gas line is provided with a gas concentration meter, a manometer and a pressure control valve; a water electrolysis method; and a method for producing hydrogen.
