Abstract:
This water heater 1 comprises: an ultraviolet radiation device (20) which radiates water passing through a water supply path (22) with an ultraviolet beam; a heating means for heating water; a deterioration detection means for detecting deterioration in the radiation intensity of the ultraviolet radiation device (20); and a control means for operating the heating means. The control means operates the heating means in a heat sterilization mode if deterioration in the radiation intensity of the ultraviolet radiation device (20) is detected. The temperature of the water heated by the heating means in the heat sterilization mode is higher than when no deterioration in the radiation intensity is detected.
