Abstract:
This water-leak detection system includes a processor and a storage device and detects water leaks in pipes. The storage device stores a sensor-measurement database that contains measurement-history data for a first sensor that obtains values that reflect the flow rate inside a pipe. From said sensor-measurement database, the processor selects measurements from a first period. The processor uses said measurements to compute a probability distribution for a prescribed variable, selects a determination-criterion measurement from the sensor-measurement database, uses said determination-criterion measurement to compute a value for the aforementioned variable, uses said value along with the aforementioned probability distribution to compute a water-leak likelihood, and uses said water-leak likelihood to determine whether or not a new water leak has occurred in the abovementioned pipe.
