Abstract:
A water leakage preventive agent which is easy to apply and is highly effective in sealing an opening through which water leaks, without impairing the appearance of the building. The water leakage preventive agent comprises (a) a water-absorbing polymer and (b) an alkylene glycol derivative having repeating units having two or more carbon atoms as essential ingredients and may contain as an optional ingredient a gellant for the water-absorbing polymer and/or a storage stabilizer. The water leakage preventive agent can be used after having been applied to or infiltrated into a spongy material, string, rope, film, sheet, cloth, nonwoven fabric, paper, etc.
