Abstract:
An easily installable and inexpensive water level measuring system capable of easily adding a water level measuring function also to an existing monitoring system, wherein reference structures with known dimensions (a reference rectangular parallelepiped, a reference square, a reference pole) are installed on a bank side (fixed position) and photographed together with a known scale (a floating reference pole, a boundary line part between the reference square, reference rectangular parallelepiped, or a bank end face and the water level, laser beam radiated on the water level, a float in a transparent tube laid down at the end face of the bank, or existing water measuring mark) related to the water level near the bank, whereby the water level can be measured by applying a calculation processing to acquired image data to provide the three-dimensional positional relation between the reference structures and the existing scale.
