Abstract:
Provided are water- and oil-repellents which can impart water- and oil-repellency to articles and which exhibit excellent stability in processing and ensure soft hand.
Specifically provided are: a water- and oil-repellent which contains as the essential component a fluorine-containing polymer that comprises polymerized units derived from a monomer (a) and polymerized units derived from a monomer (b) and which exhibits excellent stability in processing; and a water- and oil-repellent as described above, wherein the fluorine -containing polymer further contains polymerized units derived from a monomer (c) for imparting improved physical properties (such as tight adhesion, adhesiveness and durability) to articles. The monomer (a) is an α-chloroacrylate monomer that has a C6 perfluoroalkyl group; the monomer (b) is a monomer such as a (meth)acrylate that has a linear hydrocarbon group having 12 to less than 20 carbon atoms and/or a (meth)acrylate that has a cyclic hydrocarbon group; and the monomer (c) is either a copolymerizable monomer except the monomers (a) and (b) or a halogenated olefin.
