Description:
DESCRIPTION

WATER PRESSURE HAND PUMP FOR DRAIN OPENINGS

Technical Field The present invention relates to the developments made in the hand pump operated by water pressure which is specially designed for clearing the blockage in water drains within washbasins, bathtubs, and kitchen sinks used in houses, workplaces, and in any kind of dwelling.

Background of the Invention

In general, the conventional vacuum hand pumps used for clearing the blockage in water outlets transfer the air therein to drain pipes when pressure is applied from the top, due to the shape thereof. Therefore, the dirt deposits and wastes accumulated in the pipes move back and forth. When the pressure is no longer applied on the pump, again due to the shape thereof, it causes negative pressure, and thus the dirt deposits and wastes inside the drains move back upwards and are scattered around.

Moreover, these pumps are unhygienic since they directly contact with the drains carrying dirt deposits. They cause the problem of concealment in houses.

Another method used for clearing drain blockage is the chemical liquid and granular openers. When the active ingredient of these chemicals, sodium hydroxide, is combined with water, it reacts, releasing a toxic gas. In addition, that this chemical is mixed with waste water causes toxic wastes to be released in the environment. Due to the failures in concealment, cases of mortality causing great sorrow can be experienced, when for example children drink/contact with toxic chemicals. The present invention, developed for eliminating these disadvantages within the state of the art, covers a series of developments under the patent document with application no. "2008/00846" and titled "Water pressure hand pump for drain opening". It is aimed by the invention to achieve a hygienic pump configuration which is easy to use and long-lasting, but not harmful to health.

The figures of the hand pump produced for achieving the object of the invention are attached herein, which are as follows.

Detailed Description of the Invention

The invention is a water pressure hand pump for drain opening which allows easy use thanks to the anatomic structure thereof fitting in the palm.

The pump comprises the following: a main cover (46) disposed in the outermost part and having rounded lines in order for the pump to fit in the palm in an ergonomic manner; a water cover (70) connected to the main cover (46) and allowing water inflow into the pump; a bellows body (34) under the main cover; a bellows connecting piece (36) locking the bellows in the main cover; a balance wire (50) mounted in the main cover (46) and in the lowermost wing of the sliding pump and which prevents the pump from being bent while being used; a balance wire bearing (46); a bellows holder ring (60) connecting the lower wing of the bellows to the balance wire (50); a connection lug (54) for connecting the balance wire (50) to the bellows holder ring; a valve (10) for holding/discharging the water inside/out of the bellows; and a valve locking means (32) connecting the valve to the body. The valve (10) configuration is made up of a valve bridge (16) providing a space between the washbasin filter and itself, a valve cover (18), a pressure spring (14), and a segment (12) for securing the pressure spring.

The operating principal of the hand pump according to the invention is as follows.

Water is filled in the bellows (34) through the water filling opening (42) by opening the water cover (70) connected to the main cover (46). Thus, the bellows (34) is open. The valve (10) section belonging to the bellows (34) is placed in the filter nozzle (84) disposed in the drain opening. Pressure is applied rapidly on the main cover (46) by means of the palm. A metal balance wire (50) is provided in order to prevent bending likely to occur in the bellows (34) due to its structure. Due to the pressure applied from the top, the valve cover (18) moves downwards and assumes open position; and the water getting out of the bellows (34) in a pressurized manner pushes the deposits (82) to the main pipe from the washbasin drain pipe (80), thereby clearing the blockage. When the valve cover (18) is in open position, the pressure spring (14) is set. When the water inside the bellows (34) is finished, the pressure on the pressure spring (14) is removed. The spring (14) closes the valve cover (18) by withdrawal force. Hence, the dirt wastes pushed forward are prevented from coming back.

For the next use, the water cover (70) connected to the main cover (46) is opened and water is filled in the bellows (34). Thus, the bellows (34) returns to its open position, and thus open size, thereof.

In order to improve storage conditions for the water pressure hand pump for drain opening according to the invention, it can be used with a storage box where the bellows can be kept in open state.
