Abstract:
Provided is a water pump that achieves the downsizing of a pump housing that comprises a main impeller and an auxiliary impeller. The present invention is provided with: a pump housing (2) that has a pump chamber (3) formed inside a cylinder block (01) side front end; a drive shaft (6) that is rotatably provided inside the pump housing and that has a pulley (4) provided to a large-diameter shaft part (6a); and a main impeller (7) that is arranged in the pump chamber, that is provided to a small-diameter shaft part (6c) of the drive shaft with a bearing part (15) and a follower ring (16) therebetween so as to be relatively rotatable, and that is intermittently connected to the drive shaft by a clutch spring (20). An auxiliary impeller (32) is provided to a tip part of the small-diameter shaft part at a position that is separated from the main impeller in the axial direction. The auxiliary impeller is arranged inside a leading path (03) that communicates with the pump chamber in the axial direction.
