Abstract:
Disclosed is a water purification cartridge (1), a water purification cartridge (1) provided in a water purification apparatus (44), or a water purification cartridge (1) provided in a water purification apparatus (44) equipped in a sink (40), that is equipped with shaped activated carbon (4) and a sealing cap (10). The shaped activated carbon (4) is formed in a hollow cylindrical shape as a filter material and has an opening on both end surfaces. The sealing cap (10) seals the space (5) in the inner circumference of the shaped activated carbon (4) by covering the opening on the first end surface (8) of the shaped activated carbon (4). In addition, the sealing cap (10) is provided with a cylindrical closing part (12) that closes off the inner surface (7) at a prescribed dimension from the opening on the first end surface (8) of the shaped activated carbon (4), thereby preventing the inflow of water from the closed off inner surface (7). With this configuration, it is possible to maintain the ability to filter residual chlorine even if water is run into the shaped active carbon (4) from at least the outer surface (6) and the first end surface (8) of the shaped activated carbon (4).
